Stayed at the Fairfield during our recent golf road trip. Great experience, friendly staff and very clean. Kudos to Jackie who took us outside and pointed out nearby restaurants and bars. Also, to the clerk behind the counter - didn't get her name - who recommended Speak Easy and Zorba's, although we settled for steak on the lake. Breakfasts were great and the golf courses in the Detroit Lakes area are as good as it gets.
They say they offer room service but there’s no menu in the room, the restaurant for some reason is not even connected to the hotel. Did the developers understand that summer doesn’t last all year here? I paid for a suite with a lake view, yes you can see the lake I guess but most of it is blocked by a roof over the entrance to the hotel. No robes, the suite is basically just a typical double bed room with a couch in place of the 2nd bed. I’m pretty sure they bought the couch at a rummage sale, it looks and feels dated yet the hotel is brand new? Idk maybe I was just expecting it to be a little more lavish or classy since it is a new hotel in a prime location. Whoever developed and designed this place missed the mark big time.

No hot tub & no garbage can in the pool area. Otherwise very nice place, very modern accents, nice employees & good beds
