Today we ate lunch at the Holiday Inn Restaurant. I had to order the BBQ Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger, one of my favorite items! My chosen side was the garlic mashed potatoes. As always, it tasted fantastic and I just had to post a photo bragging it up. These have been the 2 for 1 special in Mondays! We usually add the salad bar so we can also taste the wonderful soups!
Just went to the pool and bar. Bathrooms were very dirty. We didn't even shower it was so gross. Bar staff was very good though.
Overpriced, mediocre food. Service is hit or miss. Patio is fun in the summer.
I've been here a few times for drinks but this time for a wedding and spent 2 nights. It's a 2 night minimum in the summer for Friday and Saturday. Over $200 a night. Overall the staff was quite pleasant and accommodating, the food tasted good. As for the reception, we were understaffed as the wedding for 340 took presesdence. Now for the room, for over $200 a night especially in Detroit Lakes I expect more. I've been to 5 star resorts and the rooms were nicer. Here the towels were old, the room was old and and cable was blurry, holes in the curtains and minimal toiletries only shampoo, conditioner, lotion and hand soap. We did have a fridge and microwave which was great for my kids. Overall the experience was nice but for the money my expectations were higher.
9/18/17 - Another wonderful visit to the Holliday Inn Ice House Restaurant today. I had to have my favorite item again. Today I took additional photos to post.
All I can say is to request a room facing the lake. I travel and have stayed at many hotels but this was by far my favorite. The view is breathtaking. The restaurant has an amazing salad bar and staff was nice. Rooms were nice and clean
